Technology Comprehension

Technology Comprehension combines aspects from social sciences, computer science and humanities. A large-scale pilot program tested how the course can be taught in primary and lower secondary schools.

Technology Comprehension was the subject of a Danish large-scale pilot program, which was carried out in 46 primary and lower secondary schools in Denmark (2019-2021). The purpose of Technology Comprehension is to develop the skills, insights and capacities needed for children to engage critically and constructively with digital technologies.

The Ministry of Children and Education financed the pilot program. The evaluation of the pilot program was published in October 2021. The evaluation is published on emu.dk. The next step is a political decision on the future of the course in primary and lower secondary school.

The videos below introduce the course and present the four competence areas.
