Technology Comprehension

Technology Comprehension combines aspects from social sciences, computer science and humanities. A large-scale pilot programme is testing how the course can be taught in primary and lower secondary schools.

Technology Comprehension is a course in a Danish large-scale pilot programme, which is carried out in 46 primary and lower secondary schools in Denmark (2019-2021). The purpose of the course is to develop the skills, insights and capacities needed for children to engage critically and constructively with digital technologies.

The Ministry of Children and Education is financing the pilot programme. Once the pilot programme is finished, a political decision on the future of the course in primary and lower secondary schools will be made.

The videos below introduce the course and present the four competence areas.
